In the Matter of Cha Jung Hee
Is the search to find the answers, as filmmaker Deann Borshay Liem returns to her native Korea to find her “double,” the mysterious girl whose place she took in America.
The face, the shoes, the letters.
We designed a few directions and ideas around the identity for the documentary.
In the 1950's all the Korean orphans had the same bowl cut hair with cropped bangs, boy or girl. This face represents all the korean adoptees who struggled to find a new home after the Korean War.
Design elements are from Deann's original korean translations, foster parent over seas letters and adoption records.
